About Thomas Maillard

My name is Thomas Maillard and I’m a lifelong Lake County resident, community organizer, and local government leader.  My Lake County family have been generations of public servants, teachers, union members, first responders, & small business owners, and my folks still reside in Mundelein at my childhood home.  I graduated from Mundelein High School and Marquette University, with a degree in Criminology and Law Studies.  I live in and work for the City of Waukegan, formerly as the Chief of Staff to the first African American Mayor, and currently as a Senior Advisor to the first female Mayor.

I am the Tenth Congressional Democratic State Central Committeeman (2020-present, and running for reelection), a Joe Biden for President Delegate (2020) and have volunteered and worked on Democratic campaigns for over 15 years.  I co-founded the Young Democrats of Lake County and represent Illinois as one of two National Committeepersons to the Young Democrats of America, because I am passionate about getting our younger leaders engaged, motivated, and mobilized.  I am an appointed member of the Chicago Metropolitan Agency of Planning Environmental Committee and I serve on the Lake County Council of Mayors on behalf of the City of Waukegan.
